Gambeson Type 2

The Gambeson Type 2 is a fitted medieval gambeson designed to provide an excellent balance of protection, comfort, and mobility. Its tailored cut follows the shape of the body, while the collarless design offers greater freedom around the neck and works well with a variety of armour configurations.

The gambeson features vertical quilting starting from the waist and is fastened with 15 tin buttons as standard. The sleeves are quilted vertically from the elbow to the wrist, and their two-piece construction improves flexibility and manoeuvrability during combat.

With medium-thickness padding, it provides reliable impact absorption without excessive bulk. The body is padded with two layers of batting, while the sleeves feature one layer, reinforced at the elbows and shoulders for increased durability.
